My love for makeup was realized at a young age. As a child, I would enjoy watching Bollywood movies with my mother. The colourful clothing of the characters and the unique way they applied their makeup sparked my interest in all things creative and glamorous. Captivated by the gorgeous looks I had seen on film, I would sneak into my mother’s room and rummage through her makeup drawer, re-creating the original looks that had fueled my passion.

As I got older, my creative interests evolved; I explored various forms of art, such as oil painting, drawing and even sculpting, but nothing compared to my passion for makeup artistry, which had continued to blossom more and more each day.

I decided to take a leap of faith and make my dream of becoming a professional makeup artist a reality. Soon after, I applied to the School of Makeup in Toronto.

After graduating from school, I began working for a world-renowned makeup brand – NARS. During the years I spent working for NARS, I was able to explore and further my creativity as an artist, taking more risks while also enjoying positive feedback from my clients on the unique looks I offered.

In the past 12 years, I have worked with many leading makeup brands and amazing artists who I have learned so much from. Working in the fashion world has allowed me to express my talent in unique ways – like I have never done before. I have had the pleasure of working on many editorial sets and fashion shows, but nothing compares to the satisfaction I get from working with my own private clientele.

Connecting with clients on such an amazing level is what keeps me going. The first smile a client sneaks out while looking at their makeover in the mirror – that look of satisfaction – making them feel beautiful – is priceless.

It doesn’t matter how old you are, what your skin colour or ethnicity is; makeup was created for all of us to magnify the beauty that already exists. We can all enjoy it while feeling confident, strong and beautiful.

I am so thankful to everyone who has supported me on my journey. I could not have done it alone. I would not be living my passion if I didn’t have my family and friends cheering me on. For that, I am thankful!
